Rhoback is looking for a proactive, team oriented, organized Assistant Merchandiser to join the merchandising team with a primary focus on supporting the Apparel Merchandiser throughout the seasonal assortment planning and purchasing process. The ideal candidate for this position is excited and passionate about apparel, especially men’s and women’s activewear. This person is highly organized, works effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment, and is eager to learn and grow in this industry by contributing however possible with a no-task-too-small mentality.  

This position will report to Rhoback’s Apparel Merchandiser and will be located in person at Rhoback’s Charlottesville, VA headquarters. Individual should be ready and energized to support Rhoback’s growth trajectory in the activewear market. 

 
Position Responsibilities: 
The responsibilities of the Assistant Merchandiser include, but are not limited to the following: 

Key Responsibilities (Data Entry + Administrative) 

  • Coordinate with the Inventory Analyst to ensure SKU setup and maintenance in the Enterprise Resource Planning system is completed in a timely and accurate manner prior to each seasonal purchase order cycle 

  • Reconcile purchase orders with design’s tech packs for each seasonal purchasing cycle, ensuring accuracy and communicating changes needed to the Design Team 

  • Format and upload purchase orders into the ERP system 

  • Assist Merchandiser with upkeep + accuracy of merchandising databases and reports:  

  • Master Sku Hierarchy Mapping File 

  • Sales Velocity Tracker 

  • Open to Buy Planning File 

  • SKU Count Files 

  • Website Merchandising 

  • Competitor Database 

  • Daily/weekly best sellers reports 

  • Product Knowledge Documents 

  • Email Calendar 

  • Change Log File 

  • Create and maintain Change Log file throughout product development process, taking detailed meeting notes and distributing the notes to attendees after each meeting 

  • Schedule all Merchandising-owned product development milestone meetings in Outlook 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Design Operations Coordinator to maintain seasonal line books for wholesale and custom orders  

  • Collaborate with the Design Operations Coordinator to maintain seasonal design boards/print boards 

  • Prepare product knowledge documents for all new product launches ahead of each season and distribute to Digital Marketing, Media House, and Customer Service teams 

  • Assist Merchandiser with product development milestone meeting preparation, including but not limited to creating and updating sales reports, and competitive analyses 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications 

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent (ideally in Apparel Merchandising or similar) 

  • Experience or coursework working in apparel merchandising or product development, retail, or with designers in some capacity  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 

  • Knowledge of Excel Pivot Tables and functions such as Vlookups/Xlookups and Sumifs is a plus 

  • Experience using PLM and/or ERP systems preferred 

  • Ability to compile data and analyze it to inform decision making 

  • Possesses an eye for color and stays current with industry trends, particularly in the activewear and golf markets 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (This role will be highly collaborative throughout the organization)

Studio Photographer & Retoucher

Rhoback Activewear is seeking a talented & motivated full-time Photographer to join our internal media house in historic Charlottesville, Virginia.

 

Job Description:

 

As a member of Rhoback’s photography team, your primary responsibilities would be focused on studio photography including product flats, creative product photography, on-figure studio photography, and retouching of photography assets. These images will support Rhoback’s digital and web presence as well as other projects as needed. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in digital asset management & help maintain consistent visual standards across all channels. Excellent time management skills and a flexible, open-minded attitude are critical to effectively manage changing priorities and shifting sample arrival dates.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, photograph, & retouch all studio photography needs for projects supporting Rhoback’s ecommerce and digital platforms.
  • Assist with retouching of lifestyle photography as needed.
  • Ensure that all product images are true to color & sizing of product in-person.
  • Help develop and maintain visual standards for the brand.
  • Manage digital asset organization & ensure they are properly accessible via Photoshelter & internal server.
  • Work with web, email, & digital ads team to ensure that images meet layout & design requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings to provide input and feedback on photography projects.
  • Responsible for proactive awareness of all product launch deadlines and delivery expectations.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Continuously improve & maintain a state of the art Photo Studio set-up.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and software.
  • Assist with other photography-related tasks as needed.
  • Manage and prioritize a high volume of images on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a team environment.

 

Ideal Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Studio Photographer, Retoucher, or similar role.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom.
  • Proficiency in color correction and color management.
  • Demonstrated experience with product & model photography lighting set ups.
  • Ability to work efficiently & accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for file formats and image resolution.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Willingness to work full-time & on location at Rhoback's headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Rhoback is looking for a dynamic Video Editor with a passion for creating engaging, fun, and high-quality content. This role is tasked with creating both short form and long form social media content (scripted & unscripted), as well as marketing assets for social media and digital distribution. Experience creating digital advertisements is a must. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all stages of post-production and can translate raw footage in creative and innovative ways that align with Rhoback’s brand ethos. 

Individual will report to Rhoback’s Chief Content Officer, while also working directly with Rhoback’s founders. Individual will also work closely with Rhoback’s internal creative team & freelance creatives, to maintain an organized library of content. Individual will be an integral member of Rhoback’s growing Media House team of creatives who will constantly collaborate to grow as professionals, creators, and continue Rhoback’s incredible growth trajectory in media and activewear markets. 

This role will be based in historical Charlottesville, Virginia, and will start as soon as possible. This is a full-time position. 

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

  • Editing marketing assets for advertisement purposes distributed across all Rhoback platforms. 

  • Editing short form & long form content (scripted & unscripted) for Rhoback’s digital platforms. 

  • Work with Rhoback’s Digital Marketing team to optimize content performance. 

  • Manage post-production workflow from ingesting, transcoding, editing, grading, compression, exporting & final delivery. 

  • Maintain an organized library of raw media, projects, and final masters. 

  • Assist with curating a music library to be used for Rhoback content that aligns with the brand ethos. 

  • Brainstorm content ideas that evoke the Rhoback mantra, “Crave Activity.” 

  • Occasionally travel to support live events with quick turn edited content. 

  • Stay consistently up to date on creative trends, best practices, and editing techniques. 

  • Hours will be subject to change based on changing timelines, so flexibility is imperative. 

 

Ideal Requirements:  

  • Self-starter work ethic with a passion for creating engaging, exciting, & impactful video content. 

  • 2+ years’ experience in video editing for digital delivery and social platforms. 

  • Demonstrated experience cutting digital ads, short & long form branded content, & energetic hype videos. 

  • Incredible attention to detail with regards to color accuracy & sound design. 

  • Ability to create engaging motion videos from still images. 

  • Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro & Media Encoder (CC). 

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects & Audition (CC) is a strong plus. 

  • Ability to work with minimal direction, showing strong initiative. 

  • Ability to work in a high paced environment with changing timelines and deliverables. 

  • Excellent organizational skills & ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Excellent communication skills: oral and written.
