A DAY WITH THE EMERALD SOCIETY PIPES & DRUMS BAND

Last year, we were honored to spend St. Patrick’s Day with The Emerald Society Pipes & Drums Band as they marched in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade on 5th Ave. Not only were we included in celebrating the Irish culture, but we were exposed to traditions and stories, while honoring the fallen.

What started out as a way for firefighters to celebrate their Irish Heritage has become one of the most important institutions in NYC. Started in 1962, the band has been marching in parades, playing at weddings, and honoring those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The Pipes & Drums Band made it their mission to play at the funeral of all 343 members of the Fire Department that died on September 11, 2001.

This St. Patrick’s Day we have the honor of helping tell their story, while continuing to collaborate on a limited edition custom performance polo – The Pipes and Drums. With 20% of sales from this polo being donated directly to the society, we are proud to share we have raised over $65,000 to support the band and their mission of honoring the fallen, while sharing the traditions of the Irish culture.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and keep an eye out for The Pipes & Drums Band on 5th Ave in the NYC Parade.
